“I’m a sucker for ‘smørrebrød’ (open rye) and aquavit. And preferably classic and well-prepared. Further to the fact that everything is home-made, Kronborg can boast of amazing service which is one of the reasons that I/we keep coming back again and again,” writes the popular food blogger and cookbook writer, Thomas Alcayaga, under the headline “My 10 favourite restaurants in Copenhagen”.
”This is where I get inspired and spoiled”
Thomas is known and loved for his blog MadEtMere which he calls “a culinary and hedonistic sanctuary” as well as his cookbook “Mad med omtanke” (Food with reflection).
Being one of the most influential food bloggers in Denmark Thomas receives loads of invitations to eating out – for free – but says that he mostly prioritises “the foolproof success” and the places he has included on his list/guide over his favourites “always deliver”. He adds: “These are the places where I go because I like them. Where I get inspired and spoiled. These are the places where I relax.”
“The Best Fillet of Plaice with Remoulade. Pan-fried in butter.”
Thomas says the following about Restaurant Kronborg: “I always point out that at Kronborg they quite simply serve the best fillet of plaice with remoulade (traditional Danish relish). Pan-fried in butter.”
We are happy and proud to be include on the list of Thomas’s favourite restaurants along with other classic Danish restaurants, like Ravelinen and Restaurant Palægade, as well as exponents of the New Nordic Cuisine, like Amass and No. 2.
We happily encourage that you read Thomas’s complete restaurant guide.
